THE HEARTFIRST APPROACH
FOR HOLISTIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Simplify Your Marketing. Expand Your Reach. Help More Clients Heal.

What is the Heartfirst Approach all about?

I believe in a different kind of marketing – one that’s ethical, effective, and refreshingly simple. It’s a proven path to success, where every strategy is designed to not only bring clients to your practice, but to foster lasting, meaningful connections.

But here’s the thing: This approach is not a new and complex invention of mine. I haven’t reinvented any wheels.

What I’ve actually done is take the best bits and pieces from modern marketing wisdom and put them together into a simple, powerful approach designed specifically for those working in the field of holistic health.

Why?

Because hardly anyone shares these insights with you.

There are a lot of complexities that come with “selling” any kind of health treatment. I get that.

But that shouldn’t mean that you have to miss out on the powerful impact that the right kind of marketing can have on your mission.

When done right, marketing is simply a tool for authentic storytelling that will help you communicate with those who desperately need your help.

So unless you put yourself out there, those who need your help will never be able to find you.

With the right marketing strategy, sharing the potential of the powerful transformations that your work has to offer can be simple, effective and most importantly fun.

That is exactly what the Heartfirst Approach is all about.

What makes the Heartfirst Approach different?

Departing from conventional methods and trying to learn a new approach can feel daunting. So why should you? Simple! In an industry that is built on empathy and trust, this approach is designed to resonate deeply with both practitioners and prospective clients.

Take a look at the table below for at detailed breakdown of how my own approach might differ from what you’re used to.

Heartfirst Approach

  • Centered around authentic & genuine connection by speaking directly to the unique needs, motivations & challenges of potential clients
  • Authentic & compassionate communication that resonates with people and creates a safe & trusting environment for clients to open up
  • Developed for mental health professionals without any prior marketing knowledge. Clear and simple but still effective
  • Ensures that prospective clients coming to your website think "Wow, this persons really GETS me!", increasing the likelihood of them turning into paying clients
  • Focuses on allocating resources effectively, ensuring that efforts are directed towards strategies that genuinely benefit your business and your clients

Convential Approaches

  • Usually views creating more sales & attracting new clients as the main priority, thus usually fails to establish deep, meaningful relationships
  • Tends to feel a bit "generic" and foster an environment where clients don't feel comfortable enough to reveal their true self
  • Often inundated with industry jargon and strategies that are hard to understand & unnecessarily complex
  • Often one-size-fits-all content that doesn't resonate with specific client needs, leads to higher bounce rates and ultimately fewer paying clients
  • Encourages practitioners to waste time, money and energy on strategies (e.g. social media) that don't always align with unique talents/needs or the target audience

Unpacking the Heartfirst Approach: Step by Step

At this point you might be thinking “But what does the Heartfirst Approach actually entail?”

A great question! Let me break it down in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Defining Your Target Audience

Defining who it is that you are trying to serve is the foundational cornerstone of any effective marketing strategy. It ensures you're directing your efforts towards the right people who are most likely to benefit from your services. We won't just look at demographics, psychographics and common characteristics but really dive into their motivations, dreams, fears and challenges.

Step 2: Creating Your Marketing Funnel

This phase is all about designing the path your potential clients will take from first discovering you to becoming paying clients. We build a journey that's intuitive, empathetic, and aligned with their needs, where every interaction is designed to provide the information necessary to progress through stages of awareness, consideration, and decision-making.

Step 3: Building A Powerhouse Website

As a service provider, your website is your most powerful tool. It's not just a digital brochure; it's a conversion engine that can make or break your business. Together, we'll refine every piece of your website to ensure it speaks directly to your client's experience, makes them feel understood and empowers them to take action.

Step 4: Filling Up Your Funnel

Now that we have your foundation in place, it's time to go out and find those people who need your help the most. No need for complicated strategies or mass marketing here. We're talking about a few select strategies (like search engine optimization, Google Ads or social media) that align with your preferences and your audience's preferences. And once they've found their way to you, we sit back and let your powerhouse of a website do the work!

Step 5: Evaluating Your Results

I know, you didn't choose to work in a healing profession so you could spend your day looking at spreadsheets full of data. That's why we won't waste any time on analytics that lead absolutely nowhere. Instead, we'll look at quick and easy strategies to help you evaluate whether a strategy is working for you and what you can do to tweak your marketing strategy over time.

Got Questions?

What kind of support or guidance do you provide to implement this approach?

I have different offers available, depending on whether you would like to learn how to implement this approach yourself or have everything set up for you.

For those who prefer a hands-on approach, I provide a comprehensive 1:1 16-week coaching program. This empowers you to implement the Heartfirst Approach at your own pace, with personalized guidance and feedback every step of the way. You can learn more about it here.

Alternatively, if you’d rather have the heavy lifting done for you, I offer a variety of specialized marketing packages. These are designed to seamlessly integrate the Heartfirst Approach into your practice, allowing you to focus on what you do best – serving your clients. You can check them out here.

Do I need any prior marketing knowledge to implement this approach?

Not at all! One of the main cornerstones of my marketing approach is simplicity and ease. Everything is crafted to be accessible, even if you’re completely new to marketing.

I’ll guide you through every step, breaking down new concepts or terminology in a way that’s easy to understand and implement.

What if I'm not comfortable with technology? Is this approach still feasible for me?

No worries! I understand that technology can be intimidating. While there will be some technology involved, I’ve designed my approach to be extremely user-friendly and simple. I provide detailed guides and resources, walking you through each step along the way.

However, if you’d rather avoid dealing with technology altogether, I also offer complete “done for you” packages. This way, you can focus on the work you’re passionate about, while I take care of the marketing.

Do I need a large monthly budget to pay for this type of marketing?

Absolutely not! You definitely won’t need a large budget to implement the Heartfirst Approach. Your monthly costs will mainly consist of running your website (usually around $20-60/month), and possibly a few marketing tools (like email marketing software) which are generally either free for low usage or quite reasonable (also around $20-30/month).

The only potential higher expense could be for practitioners who are interested in trying out Google Ads, which typically requires an investment starting at around $300-400 per month to be effective. However, this is entirely optional and usually only suited for those who already have the budget and want to explore this particular avenue.

For more details on the cost of my 1:1 coaching program or my marketing services, you can check out this page here.

How long does it typically take to see results from this approach?

The timeline for results can vary based on several factors including your specific practice history, your target audience, and the strategies implemented.

For example, increasing organic traffic through search engine optimization is free but it usually takes several months until you start reaping the fruits of your labor. Running Google Ads on the other hand can give you new client leads within a matter of days but usually requires that practitioners have the available budget to spend on these ads.

So there is no clear cut answer to this but on average, I’d say therapists will usually start noticing positive shifts in website traffic and engagement within a few months.

Will I need to make significant changes to my current website?

Unless you’ve already spent a significant amount of time optimizing your website for search engines and conversion, the answer is probably yes! You will most likely need to make a significant amount of improvements to your existing website.

Despite what you might have been told, your website needs to do more then just “look pretty”. If set up right, your website can be a marketing powerhouse that does all the heavy lifting for you. It’s the most important step of the Heartfirst approach.

But don’t worry! Most practitioners already have a website that offers a great foundational structure and content that can be expanded upon so that you don’t have to start from scratch.

How do you tailor the approach to my specific niche or specialization?

The Heartfirst Approach is like a custom-made blueprint that we design to perfectly fit you and your practice. To begin with, we’ll always focus on doing a deep dive into your target market and ideal client. That means understanding their unique needs, motivations, challenges, preferences – the whole nine yards.

By doing this work up front, we’ll have the solid groundwork we need to create a strategy that’s uniquely yours. No cookie-cutter, copy-and-paste kind of stuff, it’s all about connecting with your audience in a way that’s as authentic and genuine as possible.

Can I do this and remain ethical/HIIPAA compliant?

Absolutely! I understand the sensitivity of this matter in heath-related businesses so my priority is always to maintain the highest ethical standards in all marketing communication.

The approach I recommend is designed to be both ethical and HIPAA-compliant. In the majority of cases, this work won’t involve handling any sensitive client information, so HIPAA regulations won’t be a concern. However, in some instance where practitioners might want to use external marketing tools that collect client information, I can provide recommendations for specific tools/resources that allow practitioners to ensure compliance.
